What is Block Printing?
The ancient technique of hand block printing on fabrics with vibrant colors has been a tradition in Jaipur, Rajasthan for about 500 years.
It all begins with a wooden block meticulously carved by hand. This intricate printing method demands steady hands and precise coordination. It’s not only visually pleasing but can also be quite methodical and calming. Typically, multiple colors, ranging from 3 to 5, are layered using different blocks. Skilled artisans dip these blocks into specially crafted dyes, resulting in stunning combinations.
