THE AGE-OLD CRAFT OF BLOCK PRINTING

The ancient technique of hand block printing on fabrics with vibrant colors has been a tradition in Jaipur, Rajasthan for about 500 years.

It all begins with a wooden block meticulously carved by hand. This intricate printing method demands steady hands and precise coordination. It's not only visually pleasing but can also be quite methodical and calming. Typically, multiple colors, ranging from 3 to 5, are layered using different blocks. Skilled artisans dip these blocks into specially crafted dyes, resulting in stunning combinations.

Woventree Block Prints

Our garments are hand-blocked using this age-old method, a practice passed down through generations in family-run workshops.

Our blocks are either custom-designed by Woventree or repurposed antique blocks, each adding a unique touch to our designs. After each print is carefully stamped onto breathable 100% natural cotton, it is hung to dry in workshops steeped in tradition. Every dress is then meticulously handmade by our team of expert tailors, cut, pieced, sewn, and piped one by one. This bespoke process ensures that our designs are exclusive and cannot be found elsewhere.

For us, designing is all about experimenting with patterns and textures. Most of our dresses feature a mix of 3 to 7 prints per dress with custom borders. By combining these prints in creative ways, we create garments that are not only visually appealing but also hold sentimental value, perfect for creating cherished memories.
